Jade Creativity Totem

It's weird selecting the 3D category. But weird in a good way. This was created for my midterm project in which the assignment was to make a sculpture in 3D to go in a museum advertisement for the Met. It could have been any style of sculpture and since I have recently become a big fan of surreal art I decided to do something surreal.

This is meant the represent different parts of creativity for me, and since it is a totem, it inspires creativity. The controller pad and the base/legs were box modeled. The 'fabric' wings were patch modeled. The 'spine' and the 'head' are bezier splines. The monitor, its base, and the pencils are edited primitives.

I'm pretty proud of this, it turned out well I think. The lighting was a bitch. The instructor didn't like that aspect in the end, but did concede that it gave it an ominous look, which was what I was going for.
